Kid K’s Helmet
After becoming the third pitcher in Major League history to strike out 20 batters in a single game during his rookie season of 1998, Kerry Wood gained national attention and took home Rookie of the Year honors. After being greatly overworked, Wood had major surgery that many believed he would have a hard time coming back from. An All-Star for the first time in 2003, Wood has struck out 200 or more batters in 4 seasons, including a league-leading 266 in 2003.
This road helmet was worn by Kerry Wood during the 2003 baseball season. Shows excellent game use, including a repaired crack on the brim (no pieces missing). Kerry Wood material is extremely difficult to obtain, and the offered helmet is the first to be offered publicly in a long time. An extremely rare piece of Cubs game used equipment! Priced at $650.
